Plain Taper Gauges

Gauges for testing conical fittings with a 6% Luer taper for syringes, needles and other medical equipment to ISO 594/1-1986 (BS EN 20594-1: 1998).

ISO 594/1- specifies requirements for conical fittings with a 6% Luer taper. Conical fittings are made of rigid or semi-rigid materials.

There are two types of ring gauge specified; one for testing rigid fittings and one for testing semi-rigid fittings. When ordering ring gauges it is important to indicate which type is required.

There is only one type of plug gauge, which is used to test fittings made of all materials.

All gauges will be provided with limit steps as specified.

Gauges for testing anaesthetic and respiratory equipment. Conical connectors to ISO 5356-1 2004.

ISO 5356-1 2004 specifies basic dimensions and gauging requirements for cones and sockets for use in breathing systems, anaesthetic gas scavenging systems and vaporizers.

The main body of the standard specifies dimensions and tolerances for plain taper plug and ring gauges for testing connectors of 15mm size and 22mm size made of materials other than metal.

Both sizes have a tapered gauging surface of 1:40 on diameter.

Annex B of this standard specifies dimensions and tolerances for plain taper plug and ring gauges for testing connectors of 15mm, 19mm 22mm, 23mm and 30mm sizes made of metal.

The 15mm 19mm and 22mm sizes have a tapered gauging surface of 1:40 on diameter.

The 23mm size has a taper of 1:36 on diameter and the 30mm size has a taper of 1:20 on diameter.

All gauges will be provided with basic steps as specified, but will not have optional steps to check mating gauges unless specifically ordered.
